Equity Release Solicitors
Equity release enables you to release money from your main residence, whilst continuing to live in your home without any monthly repayments. You must be aged 55 or over to apply. Equity release has become increasingly popular with those looking for extra income to enjoy in their retirement. However, an equity release contract is a long-term commitment. It’s important to seek independent legal advice from our solicitors to fully understand the risks as well as the rewards.

Expert guidance on the equity release process
There are two types of equity release: Lifetime Mortgages and Home Reversion Plans.
Lifetime Mortgages
With a Lifetime Mortgage, you retain legal ownership of your home. There are no monthly repayments, although some plans allow you to make monthly interest payments if you choose. The loan and any rolled up interest will be repaid by your estate when you pass away or move into long-term care.
Home Reversion Plan
With a Home Reversion Plan, your equity release provider purchases all or part of your home, and you receive either a tax-free lump sum or regular payments. You retain the right to live in your property via a lease, free of rent, for the remainder of your life.
At Kew Law, we want to keep things simple and stress-free for our clients. Our experts have a wide range of experience in this area and will guide you through the equity release process through to completion. Our advice is completely independent; our only goal is to help you make the best decision for you and your home.
